Mechanical Engineer

Our Client, a leading high-end real estate developer, is seeking to recruit an experienced and highly competent Mechanical Engineer to join their project and development team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing mechanical engineering works across the development, ensuring that all mechanical systems are properly designed, coordinated, installed, tested and maintained to the required quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee mechanical engineering works across construction and development projects.
  • Review and interpret mechanical drawings, designs, specifications and technical documents.
  • Coordinate mechanical works with architectural, structural, electrical and other project requirements.
  • Supervise contractors and subcontractors undertaking mechanical installations.
  • Monitor installation of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and other mechanical systems.
  • Ensure mechanical works comply with approved designs, specifications, applicable standards and regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections and identify defects, technical issues and areas requiring corrective action.
  • Review contractors’ work progress and provide technical recommendations.
  • Participate in project planning, budgeting, procurement and cost control for mechanical works.
  • Review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), quotations, material specifications and technical submissions.
  • Monitor quality, timelines and workmanship of mechanical installations.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems.
  • Prepare and maintain technical reports, inspection records and project documentation.
  • Work closely with consultants, contractors, suppliers and the project management team.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements on site.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineeringor a related field.
  • Professional registration with the relevant engineering regulatory body will be an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience, preferably within high-end residential, commercial or mixed-use real estate developments.
  • Proven experience in supervising mechanical installations on construction sites.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and building services.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience working with consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
