MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing mechanical works across construction projects, ensuring quality, compliance with specifications, and timely completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate mechanical installations and works on construction sites.
- Review mechanical drawings, designs, specifications, and BOQs.
- Coordinate with architects, civil/structural engineers, contractors, and other project teams.
- Monitor contractors and ensure works meet required quality and safety standards.
- Conduct inspections, testing, commissioning, and snagging of mechanical systems.
- Monitor project progress, materials, costs, and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and health & safety requirements.
- Prepare site reports and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) is an added advantage.
- 3–5 years’ relevant experience, preferably in a construction or property development environment.
- Strong knowledge of building services, including HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting systems, and mechanical installations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong project coordination, problem-solving, and site supervision skills.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering/design software is an added advantage.
